I’ve been doing a lot of writing lately – just not a lot for this blog!
After nearly a decade of self-publishing here on my personal blog, I’m finally taking the next step in my writing. Another writer friend here in Tokyo hooked me up with Japan Forward, an English-language Japanese news outlet online.
Japan Forward focuses on presenting real issues from real voices within Japan, and I’m pleased to say that my voice is now among those being expressed in their blog section! This is truly a dream come true for me, to see my work published elsewhere and with a publication that is such a nice fit for my conversational, story-telling approach.
Two years ago, I attended Honen Matsuri in Komaki, aka The Penis Festival, and had one of the best days of my life and time in Japan. Check out my post on Japan Forward to find out more of this insane experience!

Congratulations Mo! It’s a great article, and having been to a few festivals in Japan I really got the feeling of this one from your writing. Not what I expected! The Japanese are so amazing.
We’re in Kyoto and loving it. Even with 15 days here it’s not enough. We have one more week here and Don has already decided he wants to come back.
